There are six laboratories cum classrooms in addition to a general research laboratory and a tissue culture laboratory. Similarly there are a lecture theatre, herbarium, seminar hall cum museum, departmental library, computer room, central equipment facility, and a botanical garden. Each faculty member has a separate chamber with some research facilities. The Department has equipment such as thermocouple psychrometer, porometer, pressure chamber, PCR, bomb calorimeter, centrifuges, research microscopes, gas chromatography, laminar flows, spectrophotometers, electrophoresis system, electronic balances, computers, photography facilities, GPS, etc.

Department Library

The Department has its own library with over 1000 books related to all disciplines of plant science. In addition, the library receives national and international journals. It also houses over 300 M.Sc. dissertations on plant science. The Department accepts gifts of publications, exchanges of journals and contributions to enrich departmental facilities. The Department library is run by a committee comprised of a teacher, student and supporting staff.

Herbarium

The department has its own herbarium, possessing over 20,000 plant specimens. It is registered as TUCH in the Index Herbariorum. All researchers associated with department deposit a set of specimen in the departmental herbarium. Besides herbarium of higher plants the department also houses huge collection of lower groups of plant, collection of seeds and other plant materials.
